Teen Autism Confident – Herefordshire

A free 3-week course for teens in Herefordshire to learn more about autism and meet other autistic teens in a supportive group environment.
The course will explore topics ranging from understanding autism to self-esteem and self-image. Each session will focus on a different topic.
The sessions consist of advisor led information and discussion; attendees are welcomed to join in but there is no pressure to do so.
Places on the course must be booked in advance.
The programme runs for 3 weeks covering 6 sessions, 2 per day. Attendees are requested to attend all 6 sessions. The dates are as follows –
Wednesday 7th August –
Sessions 1 – Understanding Autism 10:30am – 12pm
Session 2 – Social Communication 1pm – 2:30pm
Wednesday 14th August –
Sessions 3 – Sensory Awareness 10:30am – 12pm
Session 4 – Anxiety – 1pm – 2:30pm
Wednesday 21st August –
Sessions 5 – Self-esteem, Self-image and happiness 10:30am – 12pm
Session 6 – Transitions, Change and the Future 1pm – 2:30pm
Sessions will run 10:30am until 12pm where we will break for lunch, the next session will then start at 1pm until 2:30pm.
Attendees can bring along an adult, please let us know if someone will be attending with you.
