Support Worker, Supported Living

My name is Louise and I work as a Support Worker at Autism West Midlands. I work in a person centred way to ensure that the care delivered meets the needs of the individual we support helping them to live independently. I support with kindness, understanding and patience. I try to make a difference for the better everyday. Being able to make a difference to someone’s day, however small is the best thing about my role.

I have two autistic children. They are now grown up which is why I choose to work for Autism West Midlands. I can share and support with the knowledge and insight I have gained over the years.

I find working and supporting the individuals we support is very rewarding, it varies day to day as each individual is different For me a day at Autism West Midlands is always different and rewarding to know I have made someone smile or helped them accomplish activities or make their day a good one makes me happy.

I believe I make a positive difference to the people we support. I really have a passion for what I do. I’m also a key worker for one individual so I interact with family too.

There is always someone to speak to here at Autism West Midlands, if you need advice and the staff support each other. It’s a great team.
