Festive Socks

16th November 2017

The Festive Sock Season is Upon Us!

This holiday season, we are thrilled to launch our very first Festive Socks Campaign! Join us and help our A Gift of Independence for Christmas appeal to raise money for an Independent Living Skills Kitchen in one of our residential homes for people with autism.

An independent living skills kitchen will play a key part in aiding our residents to live a more independent lifestyle. They will be able to access a fully equipped kitchen which has been adapted for their specific needs, helping them to develop skills like food preparation, cooking, meal planning, healthy eating and other domestic skills. The new kitchen will play an important role in providing the residents with the opportunity to work towards being less reliant on support from staff for daily tasks. In turn, this will increase their confidence, self-worth and self-esteem and improve their quality of life.

How do I take part?

Be part of the Festive Socks Campaign by choosing a date to wear your jolliest socks all day (the merrier the socks, the better!). Wear them at home, work or even out and about! Take a selfie, donate and send us your pictures, it really couldn’t be easier.

How can I send in my pictures?

  • You can send us your pictures via Facebook or Twitter.
  • You can use the hashtag #festivesocks on twitter and tag @autismwestmidlands
